1. Ante Post

All racing Ante-Post bets are accepted and settled on a Rules of Racing basis only. Ante-Post bets are accepted at quoted prices, up to and including the day prior to the event, on the basis of all in, run or not, entered or not and all bets will be settled at the place terms taken at the time of acceptance. Therefore selections not taking part in the race/event concerned are losers. Ante-Post bets are those placed at our quoted prices on horses and prior to the race becoming classed as ‘Day of Event’ (Day of event is a term used to describe the time at which overnight declarations are made, (usually 10am 2 days preceding the race for Flat Racing and 10am on the day preceding the race for NH Racing). All bets placed after the overnight declaration stage are settled in accordance with our Early Prices/Day of Race Rules.

In line with principals laid down by Tattersalls Rules of Racing Ante-Post bets will be void under the following circumstances, otherwise bets stand.

1.1. If a horse race is abandoned and rescheduled to run at another racecourse or run on a different surface (turf to all weather or vice versa) then Ante-Post bets will be made void.

1.2. If a horse race is rescheduled to run at the same racecourse then all Ante-Post bets will stand. However if the race reopens or reverts back to a previous forfeit or declaration stage then we will allow any Ante-Post bets to be cancelled by mutual consent. Customers must contact us before the final declaration stage if they wish to void bet.
1.3. If the horse is balloted out or eliminated under Jockey Club rules single bets will be void. In any such cases, accumulative Ante-Post bets will stand on the remaining legs, at the prices laid on the selections in those races, with a double becoming a single, a treble becoming a double, etc.
1.4. When the same selection is backed to win two or more races/events where at least one of those events is an Ante-Post bet, special odds are applicable. These special odds will supersede the accumulative odds calculated from the individual event prices irrespective of the fact that the individual event prices may be endorsed on the slip or accepted on the Internet. If special odds were not available, the multiple bet stands with the first-run leg of the bet remaining at the odds taken when the bet was struck. The odds for the second leg of the bet will be returned at the first price available for that leg after the first part of the bet has been completed.

2. Double Result/First Past The Post

Double Result means if your horse is 'First Past The Post' you get paid in full, however, should your horse be awarded the race or promoted to a place, as a result of a Stewards Enquiry or Objection which is announced before the 'weigh in' or 'winner alright', we will still pay you. Double Result does not apply to the following bets or circumstances:-

2.1. All Ante-Post bets.
2.2. Any horse disqualified for taking the wrong course.
2.3. Horses which weigh in light or fail to weigh in
2.4. Races which are declared void
2.5. Where there is an official correction to the result by the Racecourse Judge, for example an incorrectly called result.
2.6. All bets on horse racing outside of Ireland and the U.K. are settled on a Rules Of Racing basis only.
2.7. Placed horses.
2.8. Any special market, such as Place Only, Match Bets and Lengthen The Odds.
2.9. Forecast or Tricast Bets
2.10. NOTE - Maximum payout for Double Result is £50,000 per customer per day.

3. Late Withdrawals

Withdrawals In all horse races, excluding Ante-Post bets, if a horse is withdrawn, not under starter’s orders, bet settlement will be adjusted in accordance with Tattersall’s Rule 4(c),

Occasionally Rule 4 deductions will be used for other sporting events where we specifically advertise, either in these rules or at the event itself that Tattersalls Rule 4 (abbreviated to Rule 4) may apply.

For withdrawals relating to Ante-Post, advertised Early Prices and greyhounds please refer to the appropriate section.

4. Reserves

Some races contain reserves, who may or may not be priced up. The finishing position of any these reserves will count regardless of whether they are prices or not. If a reserve runner is priced but subsequently becomes a non-runner we will not deduct a rule 4 with regards to the withdrawal.

5. Dead Heat

In the event of a Dead Heat the stake money on a selection is divided by the number of runners involved in the dead-heat. The full odds are then paid to this reduced stake, with the remainder of the stake money being lost.

6. Each-Way Betting

An each-way bet consists of two wagers. The first is for the selection to win and the second is for the selection to achieve a place. In all races the number of runners shall be the number of runners coming under starters orders.
Each-way accumulative bets are settled win-to-win and place-to-place. In any race reduced to fewer than 5 starters, each-way bets will be taken as ‘all-to-win’ given that there are no places available. In accumulative wagers, the bet reverts to normal place odds according to the number of runners in each race Place bets are not accepted unless at least an equal amount is invested to win. Where there is excess place money over win money in each-way bets, then that part of the bet will be void, win or lose.

The table below shows what are deemed “Standard Each Way Terms” these govern settlement on all Horse Racing unless we are paying enhanced places (such as 5 places when standard would be 4) on a particular race. In this instance the displayed each way terms given will govern settlement, these terms will be visible on the market and your bet slip (please see rule 6.1).

7. Early Price Races

7.1 Each day we will offer Early Prices on selected horse races. These are available until the opening show prices are published.
7.2 Early Prices are subject to Tattersalls Rule 4(c) deductions. Should a horse be withdrawn not under orders in an Early Price race, stakes on that selection will be returned. Bets on other runners in the race will be subject to a Rule 4 deduction, based on the last Early Price available at the time the horse is withdrawn.

8. Run For Your Money

8.1 We will refund all losing bets (in cash) on British and Irish racing on horses who fail to give punters A Run For Their Money and refuse or whip around at the start, fail to come out or lose all chance at the stalls.
8.2 talkSPORT BET’s decision will be final, however we will endeavour to refund at all times if we believe a customer has had no physical chance of winning a race due to any of the reasons in rule 8.1.
8.3 Note this only applies to races taking place in the UK and IRELAND.
8.4 This applies to all markets including Ante Post betting.

8.5 Offer will not apply to the Aintree Grand National

8.6 Please note single bets will be refunded up to £100 (or currency equivalent) total stake maximum, Multiple bets will be capped at £1000 (or currency equivalent) extra benefit from this offer.

9. No Official SP (Starting Price) Returned

All races offered should have an official SP return, these are sent by our data suppliers shortly after a race is off and are generally the same as the last price on the show. If for any reason an SP is not retuned on a race, we will settle at the last price offered. In the event of a race being offered where no show price or Starting Price has been available, all bets will be deemed void.

10. Settlement of Bets

Horse racing bets are automatically settled on a Double Result basis unless otherwise stated or as detailed in the 'Double Result' section.

Ante-Post bets are settled Rules of Racing unless otherwise advertised.

Where a result is amended after the weigh-in, for example as a result of a successful appeal, the amendment will be ignored for settlement purposes.

The advertised times of races, the runners, returns and results as published in the National Press, or websites such as racingpost.com or sportinglife.com

11. Abandonments/Postponements/Re-run Races

Single bets on horse races will be void and any selection involved in accumulative bets will be treated as a non-runner if a race or meeting is abandoned, the race is declared void or the venue is changed. If any meetings outside of the UK are abandoned and re-run the next day with a new card issued, bets will be made void and customers will need to replace bets on the replacement card. In the rare event of a UK or Irish horse race being postponed due to extraordinary circumstances, such as the 1993 Grand National which was postponed for 24 hours due to a bomb scare, all bets will stand.

12. Board/Show Prices

These are prices transmitted by our data suppliers, normally 5-10 minutes before a race is due to run. They are available until the “off” of the race. We reserve the right to use our own prices, although this would generally only occur if a failure occurred from our data suppliers.

13. Best Odds Guaranteed

This includes returns on wagers struck with promotional cash.

14. Forecasts(First and Second)

A forecast is a wager that involves correctly predicting the first and second horse in the correct order in a specified race. Prices cannot be taken on a forecast - a dividend of how much the forecast pays to a £1 stake is declared after the race.
Subject to the following rules, we accept forecast singles and doubles as part of our normal business. There must be a minimum of three runners in the race, otherwise the forecast selected will be void.
Forecast bets are settled from the returns declared by the CSF. Any bonus for forecast doubles or trebles is added to the calculated total return, i.e. excluding any leg by leg bonus. If for any reason, no CSF forecast is returned, bets will be settled by reference to the N.S.L. Straight Forecast Chart.
In a race where a horse finishes alone, a forecast dividend with any other runner will be declared. In races where a horse finishes alone and no forecast dividend is returned then all forecast bets nominating that horse to finish first will be settled as a win single at SP on the winning horse. All other forecast bets in the race are lost.

Forecast bets are void when:

a. One of the selections does not run.

b. Less than 3 runners take part in the event.

c. You select unnamed favourites. If an unnamed favourite appears among the named selections, only that part of your bet including the unnamed favourite is void.

If for any reason, no CSF or BAGS/BEGS forecast is returned, bets will be settled by reference to the N.S.L. Straight Forecast Chart.
In the event of a selection finishing alone, a forecast dividend with any other runner will be declared.

15. Tricasts (First, Second & Third)

Tricast bets require the selection of first, second and third in the correct order and are accepted in single bets only. Stakes for any tricast double, treble, etc accepted in error will be divided equally to cover each tricast race in tricast singles only.

Horse Tricasts are only accepted on races for which a Computer Tricast dividend is due to be declared. Any tricasts taken for races which for any reason subsequently no Tricast dividend is declared will be settled as computerised straight forecasts on the selections nominated to finish first and second, with the selection for third place discounted.

Any tricast which contains an unnamed favourite, that selection will be settled as a non-runner.

Tricasts will be settled in accordance with the official computerized return.

Should a tricast include a non-runner, the total stake will be invested as a computerised straight forecast on the remaining two selections in the order selected. In the case of combination tricasts the total stake will be invested as a reversed straight forecast on the remaining two selections.
Should a tricast include two non-runners, the stake will be void.

If less than three horses finish in a tricast race, a dividend will be declared on those that finish.
If two or more horses Dead-Heat for first, second or third place, separate dividends will be declared and paid to each qualifying tricast.

16. Tote/ Pari-mutuel betting

We do not accept bets at tote/pari-mutuel or the equivalent in any country.

17. Betting Without

Where we offer prices on an event without a nominated selection, normally the favourite, for settlement purposes the finishing position of the “without” selection will be ignored. Any ‘each-way’ terms advertised are settled on the actual number of runners who take part in the race, excluding the “without” selections. All horse racing specials are settled on the official results in accordance with the rules of racing.

18. Horse Racing Special Rules

18.3.4. - Abandonments or cancellations : In a single meeting Daily Racing Special any non runners or abandoned/void races - the bet will be void unless an outcome has been decided. In a multi-meeting Daily Racing Special - any included meeting abandoned will result in bets made void, regardless of other parts of the bet result(s)

18.3.6. Daily Racing Specials bets involving place markets will be settled at any enhanced place terms if any are applicable.

18.4 Distance related bets

Any distance related bets contained within Daily Racing Specials or any other specials will be governed by the below rules.

18.4.1. The maximum winning distance per race is 12 lengths for Flat races and 30 lengths for National Hunt races.

18.4.2. In the event of a horse finishing alone the maximum winning distance will apply.

18.4.3. In the event of a walkover 5 lengths will be awarded for Flat races and 12 lengths for National Hunt races.
18.4.4. The winning distance in a race will be the officially declared distance between the first two horses past the post that have completed the race on the correct course and carried the correct weight.

18.4.5. If a meeting has 3 or more races abandoned or declared void then all bets will be void unless a winning market has already been established, in which case all bets will stand. When only 1 or 2 races are abandoned or declared void then bets will be settled with a default distance of 2 lengths for Flat races and 10 lengths for National hunt races.

18.4.6. The combined meetings market will also be declared void if 3 or more races at a separate meeting are abandoned unless a winning market has already been established. In the event of only one or two races being abandoned the above default distances of 2 lengths for Flat races and 10 lengths for National Hunt races will apply.

The following applies for distances less than half a length:

Nose = 0.05
Short Head = 0.1
Head = 0.2
Neck = 0.3

This market does not include Arab (ARO) races that may be run at the meeting, even when betting is offered for such races.

18.5. Favourite Spreads
A prediction on the aggregate performance of the favourites at a particular meeting, where every race at the meeting will count towards the total. Includes favourite parts of any Bet Builder bets.

5 points for a third place
Favourites finishing out of the first three receive 0 points
In the event of a walkover or void race 10 points will be awarded
In the event that the favourite is withdrawn and no new market has been formed all bets will be settled on the second favourite
If there are joint or co-favourites then the runner with the lowest racecard number will be deemed the favourite for the purpose of this market.
In the event of a Dead-Heat, the point allocation for both places will be added and divided equally between the two runners: (e.g dead heat for 1st place would bet settled as 25pts + 10pts = 35pts/2 = 17.5pts each)
In the event of a meeting being abandoned before all races are completed, all bets will be void unless the abandoned races have no bearing on the result of the market. The combined meetings market will also be void unless the abandoned races have no bearing on the result of the market.

This market does not include Arab (ARO) races that may be run at the meeting, even when betting is offered for such races.

18.6. Head to Head
Settlement of bets will be based on the official declared result. If one selection does not run, bets will be void.

18.7 Match Betting

Bets are settled on the best finishing position. In the event of both runners failing to complete the course, bets are void. In the event of a dead heat, bets are void.

18.8 Place Only Betting

18.8.1 In the event of a horse being withdrawn, not under starter’s orders, stakes on that selection will be returned.

Bets for the remaining horses in the race will be subject to a deduction in accordance with Tattersall’s Rule 4(c) based on the win price of the withdrawn horse(s) at the time of withdrawal, (see Tattersall’s Rule 4 table above) e.g. Horse X priced at 4/1 in the win market and 1/1 in the 'place only' betting market is withdrawn then a Rule 4 deduction of 20p based on the 4/1 win price shall apply to the 'place only' betting market.

19.8.2 The number of places paid will be determined by the number of runners at the time the bet was struck e.g. If we are originally paying three places and the race is reduced to 7 or less runners we shall still pay 3 places. The only exception to this is when the number of runners is equal to or less than the number of places on offer. In this instance all bets are void.
